Adult Choir
The Chancel Choir participates in most Sunday worship services. Choir pracice is held on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.
Hand Bells
Hand bells perform occasionally throughout the year. Hand bell practice is held on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m.
Praise Band
The Praise Band leads worship services normally on the 3rd Sunday of the month. Praise band pracice is held on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 p.m.

Family
A Moravian Love Feast will take place Sunday, January 15th in the Fellowship Hall at 5:00 pm. This is a Christmas fellowship meal recalling the meals Jesus shared with disciples during his ministry and expressing the community of sharing and fellowship enjoyed by the family of God.

Youth Bible study meets Wednesdays at 6:00.
Youth Activities
We provide an opportunity for youth in grades 7 - 12 to grow in Christian faith and develop lasting friendships. Activites are as follows:

o UMYF – Sunday 6:00 p.m.
o Seasonal Activities – S.O.S (Service OVer Self), Summer Trips, Lock-Ins, Recreation

Cub Scouts
The Cub Scout program at Hawkins United Methodist Church is dedicated to preparing young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by reminding them to do their best to follow the Cub Scout Promise and the Law of the Pack. This is accomplished through den and pack based activities in the home and neighborhood using strong values, dedicated leaders, family involvement, and an emphasis on character development, citizenship training, and mental and physical fitness. Pack 104 is sponsored by the Hawkins United Methodist Church Men's Club.

Cub Scouts Meetings:
The Pack as a whole usually meets on the final Monday of every month in the Abundant Life Center or the Fellowship Hall if the ALC is not available. Meeting time is 6:00 pm, and it usually lasts from around an hour to one-and-a-half hours.
The dens also meet individually each week if not on a holiday or school vacation.
The Tiger Den meets in one of the upstairs classrooms in the older part of the church most Mondays from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. This den is appropriate for boys in the first grade and one or both parents or adult guardians. The Tiger Den Leader is Jessica Lyons 601-831-4069, and the Assistant Tiger Den Leader is Willnessials Kingdom 662-907-6188.
The Wolf Den meets right across the hall from the Tigers on most Mondays, 6:00 - 7:00 pm. This den is appropriate for boys in the second grade. The den leader is Risa Barrett 601-5297972, and Assistant Den Leader Inez Elwart 601-638-5556.
The Bear Den usually meets in the Fellowship Hall on Tuesdays, 6:30 - 7:30 pm. This den is appropriate for boys in the third grade. The den leader is Ron Schweitzer 601-529-4183.
The Webelos are split into two groups, with Webelos I led by Webelos Den Leader Permy Thuha 601-218-4543, and Assistant Webelos Den Leader Bryan Rosamund 601-529-3118, meeting on Monday nights from 6:00 - 7:00 pm upstairs. Webelos II are led by Joey Barrett 601-618-9565, meeting also on Monday nights from 6:00 - 7:00 pm upstairs. These dens are appropriate for boys in the fourth and fifth grades and facilitate transition from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts.
Joining Cub Scouts:
Boys in first through fifth grades, or ages 6 through 10, at any school or home schooled anywhere in Warren County, are eligible to join.
Cub Scouts Activities:
Besides den and pack meetings, the Pack participates in three campouts organized at the district level every year, namely the Fall Akela Cub Campout, the Winter Polar Bear campout, and the Spring Cub-O-Ree. Denise Hluska is the district lead for the Fall Akela and Spring Cub-O-Ree campouts, which are both themed. he theme for the Fall Akela Cub this year was a Show-and-Do, and the Theme for the Spring Cub-O-Ree is Pirates! The Winter Polar Bear camp is intended to focus more on parent-son activities and has been more loosely organized historically.
Other outdoor activities include Summer Resident Camp and the Cub Scout Day Camp in early Summer.
The pack also participates in the annual Pinewood Derby and observes the annual birthday of the Boy Scout movement by holding a Blue-and-Gold banquet at the end of February.
Cub Scouts Fundraising:
The pack participates in the annual popcorn sales to raise funds, as well as generating monies by assessing annual dues payments. The pack has also hosted a Trunk-or-Treat for the past three years.

Boy Scouts
Boy Scout Troop 76 meets in the Fellowship Hall on most Mondays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The Boy Scout program at Hawkins United Methodist Church is dedicated to preparing young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law through a program of outdoor activities using strong values, dedicated leaders, and an emphasis on character development. Troop 76 is sponsored by the Hawkins UMC Men’s Club and the Vicksburg Kiwanis Club.

Boy Scouts Joining Requirements:
- Must be 11 years of age
- Must be 10 years of age and have completed the 5th grade
- Must be 10 years of age and have earned the Arrow of Light Award
Boy Scouts Activities:
Troop 76 camps several times a year. We have some Troop campouts and attend the Andrew Jackson Council Camporees in the Spring and in the Fall each year. Troop 76 attended Summer Camp at Hood Scout Reservation in 2008. We will be going back to Hood the last week in June 2009.
Other annual activities include First Aid training, Scout Show, Court of Honor’s, service projects to local charities, cookouts, swimming parties and fishing.

Adult Bible Studies
As a community of believers, we long to deepen our spiritual faith journey. We offer a variety of adult Bible studies for men and women, morning and evening, that provide a connection with others and Jesus Christ. Please click here for more detailed information about our Sunday School classes.

Supper Clubs
"Dinner For Eight" is a time for Christian fellowship and a meal. Groups of approximately eight (single or married) will share a meal together every 4-6 weeks at a member’s home. Everyone shares as a host and in the cooking. Groups will begin in fall 2009 and meet for 6 months. Groups will be rearranged and meet again for 6 more months.
DMAs (Don't Mention Age)
DMAs provide an ecumenical fellowship of older adults, both men and women, with the purpose to enjoy the fellowship of other christians, to serve God and this community. DMAs meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. for lunch and a program.
United Methodist Women
Our UMW emphasis is placed on local and worldwide missions, especially for improvised women and children. Through our programs, we gain a better understanding of our roles as Disciples of Christ.
o Charter Circle – Meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m.
o Sunday Circle – Meets the 2nd Sunday at 11:15 a.m., immediately following the 10:00 morning worship service.
o We participate in district and conference activities including spiritual life retreats.
United Methodist Men
UMM share fellowship through programs and studies of interest to men. UMM provide service through outreach to the community and church organization. UMM meet the 3rd Sunday for breakfast at 7:30 a.m.

Adult Night Out
Hawkins enjoys many Adult Night Out activities. Recent activities have included:
o Wild West Barbecue – Saddle up for a great time of western fun and barbeque. Come enjoy the fellowship. All adults welcome. Nursery proviced.
o Sock Hop 'n' Disco – Dig through your closets and put on your dancing shoes for a time of fun fellowship for all adults at Hawkins. Please bring finger food for the refreshment table. Rides will be available for those who would like to come but prefer not to drive.
Children
Children's Ministries

We invite children to grow in the Word of God, develop their Christian faith and make responsible disciples in the world.
Acolytes
This program gives our children an opportunity to participate and help with worship. Acolytes are 3rd through 6th grade.
Kids Own Worship
A worship experience for children ages 4 years - 2nd grade. Leaders escort children to KOW room following the children's message during worship. This is a special kids "sized" worship for our children. This semester we are exploring how God is worthy of our worship.
His Kids Choir
His Kids Choir is for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Children enjoy singing and participating in musicals.
GPS Growing Personally on Sunday
Children Kindergarten - 5th grade meet Sundays at 5:00 pm for snack supper followed by age appropriate Bible lesson. Children in 6th grade may participate in confirmation classes lead by Pastor Susannah Grubbs Carr. Students need to register in the church office if you are planning to attend the confirmation retreat by January 8th.
Sunday Evening Kids Connection
Children Kindergarten through 6th grade meet Sundays from 5:00 to 7:00. During this time church children will Godly Play during the recreation time. Enjoy snack supper, sing as part of His Kids Choir and dig into a Bible study.
Camping Ministry
Children are encouraged to participate in various camping activities offered at Camp Wesley Pines.
Vacation Bible School
Children attend VBS each summer. Ages and dates will be announced at a later date.
