Volunteer Interest Survey Meeting for UMCOR Sager Brown Depot
From our recent involvement in supplying Health Kits for Haiti to the UMCOR Sager Brown Depot in Baldwin, LA, some members have expressed interest in
volunteering at the Depot. To determine the extent of this interest we need to conduct a church-wide survey.
The earliest available time for new volunteer groups to book a week is in April 2011, the week before Easter Sunday (April 24) or the week
after Easter Sunday. Although this is a year away, the Missions Committee has tentatively booked or "penciled in" the partial week before Easter for
6-10 people who are not yet determined. This booking date and number of people can be changed based on the preference of an interested group. We need
to determine that interest and preferred time, and if interest is sufficient, then a booking needs to be confirmed by submitting a team application
and a $20 per person non-refundable deposit by March 24, 2010.
A church-wide interest meeting and briefing on the Sager Brown Depot Mission is scheduled for March 21, 2010, following the Sunday worship service
and commitments need to be made at that time. The total cost per person is estimated to be $205 for meals and lodging. A video on Sager Brown
